These past few days have been absolutely gorgeous. Seventy degree weather during the first days of November, glorious days to treasure and savor. I've tossed open windows to catch the last of the wonderful breezes and fresh air into what will soon become a stuffy home, to clear out the stale air one last time. I am so going to miss these kind of days. Tomorrow, which is my birthday, will see the beginnings of cooler and then colder days, days that are usual for this time of year. Cloudy, colder; perhaps cold rain that makes for a muddy horse lot and all the "fun" my horses have dragging their feeders out just far enough into the lot to make us go inside it, mud up to our ears and slippery, to drag them back up to the fence again.
So I treasure these few days, where a new president was elected and hopefully a better country to live in, golden sunshine that's so typical of autumn that makes everything glow and somehow brings a happiness to your soul that you'll need to store up, like squirrels do nuts, for the upcoming cold and dreary months. The last few days where we have evaded having to turn on the furnace. All these things I will remember with a wonderful feeling of joy to carry me through the winter months. I hate to see it all end.
