These past few days have been absolutely gorgeous. Seventy degree weather during the first days of November, glorious days to treasure and savor. I've tossed open windows to catch the last of the wonderful breezes and fresh air into what will soon become a stuffy home, to clear out the stale air one last time. I am so going to miss these kind of days. Tomorrow, which is my birthday, will see the beginnings of cooler and then colder days, days that are usual for this time of year. Cloudy, colder; perhaps cold rain that makes for a muddy horse lot and all the "fun" my horses have dragging their feeders out just far enough into the lot to make us go inside it, mud up to our ears and slippery, to drag them back up to the fence again.
So I treasure these few days, where a new president was elected and hopefully a better country to live in, golden sunshine that's so typical of autumn that makes everything glow and somehow brings a happiness to your soul that you'll need to store up, like squirrels do nuts, for the upcoming cold and dreary months. The last few days where we have evaded having to turn on the furnace. All these things I will remember with a wonderful feeling of joy to carry me through the winter months. I hate to see it all end.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.
This week's from my blog to yours from SSD is a little quiz about what ice cream personality you are. It was right at first, then the rest just wasn't right at all, lol. I'm a great multi tasker and enjoy doing several things at once. And, I'm definitely not even close to overly dramatic or over the top; in fact, I'm quite the opposite. But it was fun and so here's the result of the quiz.
Your Ice Cream Personality: |
You like to think of yourself as a fairly modest person. And it's true that you don't talk yourself up... but you're also pretty happy with who you are. You are incredibly cautious. You rather miss out on something than make a mistake. No one would ever call you wild... but they would call you responsible. You are a fairly open minded person with a wide range of tastes. You are quite accepting of unusual ideas and people. You tend to have a one track mind. You prefer not to multitask. You can be a big dramatic and over the top sometimes. You are bold in every way |

French fries
When it comes to fast food, it's a toss up to which one I'd go to first. But if it was all about french fries, it'd be a toss up. I love curly fries from Arby's and their sandwiches aren't half bad either. But face it, McDonald's french fries win first, hands down. I also love chicken mcnuggets.
A brand new McD's opened in town and can I get even a lousy order of fries? No. DH says he'll get them when he's in town for me (which btw, is less than 3 miles from here). He's there at least 3 times a week for this and that. Today he says, what would you like from McDonalds? So I think about it and when I finally bring it up, he doesn't "feel like leaving the house now".
I am not a happy camper. All I want is some french fries and I am not about to redo all the car settings so I could drive there for them. He asked and then renigs on them. I repeat, I am NOT happy. Quit asking me already if it isn't gonna happen. I'd rather not be asked then be denied my favorite french fries in the whole world and have my taste buds totally disappointed.

I am SO EXCITED!
I'm excited, I'm totally jazzed, happy, ecstatic, beyond pleased! These past three weeks have been beyond my dreams. Two SweetShoppeDesigns Designers asked me to be on their creative teams, Darcy Baldwin (DJB Fonts) and Penny Springman (Penny's Miscellany)! I am so above honored that they asked me. To be with those wonderful designers and the great ladies on their teams is really a dream come true.
So it is my honor to let you know that Penny has a sale on through September 30 at her store, Penny's Miscellany. It's just one more day I know, but it's a wonderful sale and I'd love for you to go see her fantastic stuff!
I expect to be a very busy gal now with my digiscrapping stuff :).

You Could Be a Vampire... If You Had To |
Like most people, the thought of being a vampire has crossed your mind. But you're not sure if you'd do it, even if you could. Living forever doesn't sound half bad, if you could live forever with the people you love the most. But do vampires even love? And would the vampire version of you even be you? It's all too much to contemplate. Luckily, the chances of you ever becoming a vampire are astronomically low. What you would like best about being a vampire: Living forever What you would like least about being a vampire: Blood stained teeth |

What happened to the colors in a box of crayons?
Boy, long gone are the days of knowing the colors in a 64 pack of Crayola crayons for me. Kids' picks, colors with names completely foreign to me. It feels like stepping into another country, lol. Talk about an easy way to make one feel old :|.
Took a quiz at the Crayola site about the names of each crayon. I did abysmally, I'm embarrassed to even tell how many I missed, lol. I only got 11 right on the first try. That's how many colors have changed since I last opened up a brand new pack.
But there is still a great joy for me in getting a brand new box of crayons and opening up that box of colorful joy just waiting for me to use. I will always love a brand new box of crayons.

Little victories
As you can see, there's a slide show to the right. It might appear to be a simple process to've added this, but i was totally baffled, lol. It took a very good friend of mine to help me get it right. She's incredibly patient with me, bless her.
But it's little victories like learning how to do this that can sure add to my self esteem for sure.

Another From Our Blog to Yours from SSD,lol
I never worked in the summer as a kid. My summers were spent being with the horses. We'd go riding out around the section, which was at that time, full of trails and a wonderful woods to ride through. All that's gone, sold to some guy who tore down all the woods and put it to farming (sigh. is so sad). We could ride the back roads too, then, because the traffic was low and they didn't drive like they were at the indy 500.
They were also spent getting ready for the county fair, for 4-h. I had a horse project from the time I was 13 till it was time to graduate from high school. That last year I couldn't, because I was attending college that fall. We always had a blast at the Fair. I had good friends and we spent a lot of great hours together, without a parent around for a few hours, lol.
Those summers were good. And I do miss them a lot.

Happy 4th of July, almost
It's raining here, has been for hours. The local airport says the area's gotten at least 1 inch of rain. And, it's supposed to rain tomorrow; not just that, we're talking storms, the kind with mother nature's own personal fireworks. And that's going to spoil it for a lot of folks who're planning to attend their local fireworks displays. We're not among them. It's just too much trouble. They're over half an hour away and by the time we'd get done feeding the critters and got over there, there'd not be one parking spot that'd be in a safe area and easy walking distance. So, we watch the fireworks go off in the safety of our own home via the magic of television and PBS or whoever it is carry the Boston Pops or the Capital celebration in Washington D.C. Viva modern technology!
Here's a cute little quiz called The Fireworks Test. Not too sure if I actually fit what it says, but hey, there are only 6 to choose from, lol.

What Your These Fireworks Say About You |
You are a rather reserved person in day to day life. However, you do have a few topics that truly excite you. When you become impassioned, it's a surprise to everyone around you. But if they blink, they'll miss it, because you get back to being calm very quickly. |

Home bodies
You know, when it boils right down to it, my dh and I are just plain home bodies. We stick pretty close to home all year. Even in the summer. Our idea of a big time in the summer is pretty much going to a couple of local county fairs in August and September. We might even go all the way to Columbus to visit the Barnes and Noble book store, lol.
With the critters and his schedule, it really is hard to get away anyway. But we really just prefer to stay at home and chill out. What with the price of gas it is these days, it's all well and good that we actually prefer staying close to home.

If I could vacation anywhere
If gas and money were no object, I'd love to see so many places. We would go to England and see Stonehenge, to Rome to see the Coluseum. We'd go to Greece and visit the Parthenon and to Egypt to the Valley of the Kings. We'd go the the British Museum in London and the Louvre in France. We would also go to Australia too, visit with my friends there and see all that we could in that beautiful country.
